Salena Davis-Woods

Attorney

There is no one size fits all when it comes to your family’s needs and that is the same approach that Salena takes with her clients. By catering her legal approach to the individual circumstances of each client Salena is able to meet people where they are.

Salena attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC on a full academic scholarship. Salena graduated Summa Cum Laude with both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Salena learned early on how to manage time with a busy school schedule, involvement with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, NAACP, student government, and completing over 250 hours of community service while at NCCU.

A North Carolina native, Salena is deeply invested in the Charlotte community. After attending NCCU School of Law, Salena returned to the Charlotte area and worked as an Assistant Public Defender for Mecklenburg County. By 2011, Salena co-owned her practice in Charlotte, where she focused on family law, criminal law, and personal injury. Now, she’s specializing solely in family law with David Self Family Law and Mediation.

Not only is Salena an accomplished attorney, but she has a creative side and loves to make anything with her hands (jewelry, clothing, painting, you name it!). Her calling to serve others shows up at home with her two sons, Aidan and Alijah, as well. Salena started a custom craft business with her kids with the hopes to pass on her creative and driven spirit to them.

Salena believes her highest calling is service to others. With her clients, she’s honest and diligent, and she genuinely cares about them. She understands the importance of keeping them well-informed, and she knows it’s equally important to listen to them so that she’s clear on their goals and needs. As Rihanna would say, Salena “shines bright like a diamond” and David Self Family Law is lucky to have her working with us.
